Posted by mplibrary in weekly BookWise.

What Are You Reading?
The winner of this semester’s “What Are You Reading?” grand prize drawing is:  Jessica Whitted!  Jessica wins a $30 gift certificate to the Village Book Shoppe at Belk Plaza in Athens.   Happy reading, Jessica.

Computer System Restored
The ACA server located at Sewanee is replaced and our services are restored as of around noon on Wednesday, Nov. 29.  We are sorry for any problems you encountered Tuesday and Wednesday trying to use the library catalog or databases.

Holiday Scholars
Students, are you returning for Spring semester and will you want to use library books and databases over the holidays?  Come by and let us update your student record through January 10 so that you can do so.

Return Books, Pay Fines by December 12
…so you can check in next semester, get grades, get transcripts, and generally sleep well at night.  From the library home page, click on “Check Your Library Account” to see what you have checked out, when it is due, and what money you owe.

Quotation of the Week:
“There are many people — happy people, it usually appears — whose thoughts at Christmas always turn to books.  The notion of a Christmas tree with no books under it is repugnant and unnatural to them.” — Robertson Davies  (1913-1995)

We’ll be closed starting December 16, 2006 through January 2, 2007.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
