Big News, and a book sale May 31, 2007

The library now has laptops for you to check out!

Yes, really. (Would we kid you about something this big?) Any student, faculty or staff with a current TWC ID can borrow a laptop for up to two hours. These work with our WiFi connection and have a full Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and a CD-RW/DVD drive.

Right now there is only one laptop available, but a second will join the party once we’ve tinkered around a bit to see how this thing works. We would love to get some feedback on how people like this (or don’t?) before classes start in August. Come check it out and tell us what you think. You can say you were the first to try it!

Also, the library has received a generous donation of books… including some we can’t really use. But that’s okay, because some of you probably can, so we are putting them up on our sale shelves. As always, hardcovers are $1.00 and paperbacks are 50 cents. Most of these are travel guides and “Dummies” guides – normally darn expensive stuff – and some award-winning children’s books too. Come get ‘em while they’re hot, because in a week or two everything left is going to be traded in for other things.

ETA: Second laptop is back in business!
